psionic storm is OP | Jul 3rd 2009, 09:00 | |

ive been seeing alot of ppl saying terran abilities need indicators.
i wanna see what u ppl think about a psionic storm with 5 second warning sign, like a coloured circle where a storm would hit. "psionic storm is OP" what u guys think about it? if HSM or D-8 charges need indicators and are OP without them im sure storms need one too... -_- |

Whiners got you down? Anyway HSM and D-8 both have their downsides for the HSM well you see a missile flying towards one of your units so that gives you time to run, D-8 has a timer which should give anyone enough time to try to minimize casualties. |

I think I hear from the SC2gg podcast that there is a small 1 second warning. 1 second is plenty. Even if you do get hit, you can move out and survive. And yeah.. d8 charges need to be easier to see.

I think it'd be under powered if it had a 5 second cast delay

It isn't OP in the SCBW so it won't be OP in SC2

HSM make a visible mark on their target (or so one of the podcasts or some other site said) and I'm pretty sure you can notice psionic storm from out of space, while being blind. You'll take a bit of damage but you'll have time to run ( I believe they also said it lasts longer, so I guess less damage is taken)

u dun need a 1 second or even any "sec" warning sign. the storm is warning enough. even the high templar is enough of a warning. |

Amen to that mah brotha! I absolutely hate Psi Storm in SC1. I never manage to get my units from under it without them being at least at 40-50% of their health. That is as OP as it can get. My tightly stacked (and overly expensive) Muta groups are especially easy decimated by the Psi Storms. ![]() ![]() |

*Ahem* I beg to differ: Psi Storm Creates a storm of psionic energy in a location dealing large amounts of damage. Stats: 80 damage per burst Energy: 75 Range: 6 ![]() |

Yeah but the fact that there are High Templars in the enemy army is warning enough that you're about to be zapped.

Yes, but if it was insta cast like in BW, there would be almost no chance of low tier units to get away, since the HT could just run in and cast it right in the middle of the group. Obviously if the other player had a sight advantage this may not be the case, but had the HT come in, even if he just ran in from the front, he'd still be able to get that shot off. Imagine scouting around and suddenly your entire squad is dead
