ok after these q&a i got more idea about what i was wondering...
really good organized report
but i have a question, terran's sensor tower has a particular detect range? if so, then what's the different between xel'naga watch tower and sensor tower? is that sensor tower could only locate enemy's position instead of providing a vision on the map?

Sensor shows them within the fog of war.

thank you for responding ^^

It looks like it would take three nukes to kill an Utralisk(or a group) and you have to have them hold still for 10 seconds.

Yeah the ultralisk is kickass now, it will be worth teching that high now, plus it will do wonders in small groups .

they do wonders in small groups and in large numbers they obliterate everything...

@Omega, you could nuke yourself then technicaly you beat yourslef so its a draw...

I was worried about the Ultralisks. What methods would you suggest to fight the Ultralisk as a Terran player?

Thor 250 mm cannons...EPIC HARD COUNTER:)

i was thinking that take the thors as meat shield, with its powerful 250mm cannons deal with fine damage, plus bunches of siege tank behind, all anti-armored units (awesome)
problem is i afraid ultras would be freakin hard to be killed in distance then charge really close to thors ((
that make my siege tanks matrix extremely stupid if they blow thors off accidentally

Well if the opponent happens to go Ultralisks, you should be high enough in tech to get air units, lol.

Simply go air units.

Making drones from extra larva from the queen takes 200 minerals, and the queen her self takes minerals. Protoss obelisk takes 150 minerals but now gives no supply or power. Did anything change to make Terrans macro mechanic cost more? or did they decide the choice between using scan and using mules was big enough terrans would have to use scan sometimes and thus, not be able to use mules as often?

I can actually see how the choice between mules and scans is so important that they don't actually need to spend minerals to get their macro mechanic going. I'm using mules like crazy - oh crap groups of zerglings just burrowed in my worker line and another army is attacking my expansion, shoulda saved for scans. I'm using scan to combat the zergs burrow - oh crap my economy is suffering because I'm using lots of scans.

However I don't know what protoss have to make the terran use scans, so if some protoss player knows how they could do that enlighten me, because from what I can tell terrans could have their macro mechanic up and running non stop against protoss.

How quickly does air kill Ultralisk. It doesn't help to kill the Ultralisks if they already messed up your base. I am asking because it seems given the Ultralisk HP and damage they can hurt you unless you face them in the field(which I know you should be doing) with air. What I want to know is if Ultralisk seemed to powerful or is the air counter enough to stop them from causing damage.

If you let the enemy get anymore then 3 Ultralisks, its your fault and you should lose.

Another website actually noted how he sent his army of 12 ultras and 60 or so zerglings into a protoss base and they just melted under all the fire power. I personally don't think they will be as powerful as some people are making them out to be.

Edit: Gearvosh, can you confirm/deny that lurker base range is 9 or 6? cause the +3 range to the base 9 making it 12... is causing quite the hubbub in the zerg forums.

I have a thor question miles. I've heard on another site that the thor compresses itself into a cube shaped form to be transported by the medivac.

so if you've tested this mechanic, do you think its completely time wasting and unnecessary or is it something that seems fine? (it sounds pretty cool though)

Were the graphics for the game EXTREMELY good, like to the point where you'd need a pretty good graphics card to run it; or did they look good to the point where they looked nice, but didn't sacrifice performance too much?

I know this might seem obvious, but I like to know things 100%
