SC2 Armory 1v1 Ladder! | Feb 13th 2009, 12:59 | |
|
I have great news everyone! After speaking to my former Q3 clan leader, I have found a great site to host the 1st SC2 Armory ladder!
This ladder is hosted at www.fraggednation.com ![]() ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ladder Basic Information: Season Starts: 2/13/09 Season Ends: 2/28/09 Game Mode: 1v1 Game Speed: Fastest Ladder Mode: rung* Version: BroodWar 1.16.1 Maps**: - BlueStorm 1.2 - Destination 1.1 - Lost Temple 2.4 - Medusa 1.1 - Python 1.3 Maps per Match: 3 - challenger's map - challenged's map - random map chosen by the system How to Join & Play: (video tutorial done, need to recompress and upload) - Create an account at Fragged Nation - Join the SC2 Armory 1v1 Ladder (password is gosu) - Challenge away! Regarding Timezones: - Remember that the armory has members all over the world. - Timezone to use is standard GMT (London). Make sure you talk to your opponent and agree on a proper time for both. - Bear in mind the time differences so you don't miss your match. Example: if you live in the US East Coast (GMT -4), and the match is setup at GMT 4:00pm, that means that your match would be at 12:00pm your time. If you, however, live in France (GMT plus1), then the match would be at 5:00pm your time. Communicating with your Opponent: If you wish to communicate with your opponent, go ahead and click the tab to send him messages in your challenge.Rescheduling Games: By default, games are scheduled 3 days ahead of time. However, if you wish to play right away, you can select even the same day, by clicking after the challenge has been accepted. Your opponent needs to agree for this to take effect though.Where to Play your Games: The recommended way to play is to PM your opponent and pick one of the 4 Ladder Hamachi Servers, created exclusively for this: SC2A Ladder Network 1 SC2A Ladder Network 2 SC2A Ladder Network 3 SC2A Ladder Network 4 Pass for all 4 networks: gosuladder For questions regarding Hamachi, read this thread. Of course if you feel like using Battle.net instead, and find it much more easier and comfortable, then go ahead and let your opponent know. If he agrees, then play your game there and then report once done. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- *rung means that depending on your position and whoever you challenge, winning will get you halfway up to that player spot. Example: player #50 challenges player #1, and wins. He climbs up to position #25. Players from #26 to #49 drop 1 slot. **maps were picked based on the latest map poll, taking in consideration the most picked ones, as well as popular EoB Tournament maps. PS: I have to mention this: while recording the tutorial, Broodie initially had the idea to strap his webcam to his head as he went through the steps. After some quality issues and internet lag, he let me know it was better if I was to do it. He even ran into the same problems I ran into, not being able to play the .avi once captured. Im still working on coding it in order to upload it. The funny part in this story is definitely picturing Broodie with a Webcam tapped to his head xD. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Feel free to post your questions or comments in this thread, and hope you guys enjoy the ladder!

I would love joining this tournament, but my battlenet does not seem to work. I have tried so many times, but there doesn't seem to be any connection to it. Shrug... Oh well, I guess I'm just going to have to sit this one out.
This is my farewell and my confession
Goodbye Everyone |

We are not using Battle.net officially. Hamachi is being encouraged to avoid problems. My suggestion would be to go ahead and give Hamachi a try RAJ8430, and see if that works for you . Installation steps are found here. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll be happy to help you dude, don't sit this one out! ![]() You can download hamachi free at www.hamachi.cc. The latest version will do. By the way, I'm glad to announce that we are up to 14 players so far. Let the games begin! |

Already joined. Hamachi doesn't want to install on my mac due to the lack of a real root user (I use admin). Will anybody object to my use of battle.net?

If I was to play you I would, 100ms get some time to get used to, and I cant even begin to imagine the lag on European guys. Anyways, the official LogMeIn page has a Hamachi for Mac here, in case you want to take a look. |

Thats what I've been trying to install, thanks for the link. I'll fiddle around with it, and see what I can do with dual boot, but otherwise I think I may be stuck. As far as battle.net, I haven't had any problems with either coast in the states, but have a lot of trouble on the asian server. Will experiment with european server later tonight, if running in windows has any problems.

Yes, you can actually also host tournaments on that site .... but I thought we start with a 3-week ladder and see how that goes.So far so good! 18 players signed up, and a match has already been played! ![]() And let me know if you have any questions, my tutorial video had some audio issues last night and I ve been unable to work on it yet .

Well why dont u just give it a try and see how it goes? After all, u get near-LAN ping with hamachi, worth a shot. If u are sure ur connection is laggy, then just dont host, have some1 else do it. Give it a try and if it works join the ladder .

Oh wow! You guys have really stepped up your game! I'll definitely be able to join you guys this time around because of this:
I FINALLY got my laptop reformatted with my Toshiba recovery disk that I only just figured out how to use after 4 weeks and 2 days of not being able to connect to my college's internet through Cisco. It doesn't matter though, it was a learning experience for me on what to do when it comes to the dreaded Microsoft reformat. It'll take me awhile to get all my old software re-installed, but I backed up all 28 GB of laptops memory. I'll basically just install my software first and then copy and paste the files that have my personalized settings for some of the programs. Anyway, back on topic. This is pretty awesome what you guys are doing. Even though it'd be nice to figure out how to get Premium Hamachi for free, the other version I guess is fine as long as there are plenty of channels to join. You guys keep up the good work. sc2armory.com is always on my Overmind. lol XD Edit: I just joined the website, but when I try to join there's a message that states "Wizard is missing Competition information! Please notify a Global Admin if the problem persists. Code: -1" Any thoughts on this?
