I got a job at Blizzard | Oct 9th 2009, 12:32 | |

Like some of you know, I had an interview with Blizzard almost 2 weeks ago. Before that I had an interview 2 years ago but didn't get the job because my lack of experience. However this time around I kicked ass and got the job.
I start Nov 2nd and will be working with the web team as the Web Scripting Engineer. That is all. |

This may be an ignorant question, but please humor me and answer it anyways:
how does blizzard prevent such a large amount of leaks given the anonymity of the internet and modern communications? Im assuming they do or we'd have more than just a handful of random BRs, and other official casts supplemented by blizzcon footage sneaked by dedicated fans. Is it just an honor code among employees, or is it actually easy to determine where the information came from (like, if you made a post leaking X on SC2A under a noob account, could they determine if it was you (miles) who leaked the info) or how does it work? Thanks. |

good question! Couldn't one just go on a different computer like at a library or something to prevent it from tracing to one's computer?
edit: gratz on the job btw. you just won a few million people's dream job. |

Ok, I'm sure not everyone in Blizzard has access to certain things... I mean if you're a janitor i'm sure you won't have the code to the safe... oO
So if Gear is working as the website engineer, I'm sure he won't have random files of battle reports on his computer... I'm sure he'll get to watch em... and play HELLA SC2 in his free time... but he won't have the actual files... So if something leaks... the person in possesion of those files will be questioned... Like if BR4 leaked and only DKim, Matt Cooper and Dustin had that file on their comps... do you think they would suspect me? (the janitor) |

Grats Gears, that is pretty cool. Any open positions in their IT department? ;p
Have fun getting to play StarCraft 2 every single day. You better keep the armory up to date now! ![]() |

LOL. You're ambitious aren't you, Janitor Anyway yes only certain people are allowed access I would imagine. Besides maybe you must work on a company computer or install software so that your actions will be monitored and they will see any leaks.
