"Yes, I sense your confusion. That is exactly why I do not foresee the future. To much confusion." Prelate replied ignoring the Shamans plea's to get to KnightSpector, "the cloning chamber is ahead. there is a lift from their to the infirmary. For, you know, emergencies."
Goraem was silent. "You know, in some cultures not responding is rude and considered punishable by death." Darkre continued, slightly annoyed. More silence. Prelate turned around to find that everyone was gone, Goraem, the droids, the wraths, and the fly that had been tailing them since they had escaped from the holding chambers. In a flash Prelate back-flipped about 5 yards backwards as a mutated Nydus Worm rammed it's way from the right wall to the left. Prelate observed small craters along the length of the worm, each of them housing one fly, attached to the worn via, veins and in some kind of chromotos, much like when sharing consciousness'. Prelate sat down in meditating position. And suddenly a psionic apparition of Prelate appeared before him, a ghost if you will. Then Darkre got up to his feet, bowed to the apparition whom in turn did the same and the "ghost" moved forward, gripped the end of the Nydus Worm as it rushed by and disappeared. The real Prelate continued toward the cloning center, unmoved by the event. |

Fredrick felt something give below his feet, like support beams being broken. A low rumble shook the floor. Suddenly a loud groaning and screeching metal surrounded the area. The floor began to collapse, Fredrick grabbed his master and took hold of a open cabinet door. The floor dropped and crumpled leaving Fredrick and KnightSpector's feet dangling over a twelve foot drop. At the bottom was metal beams and debris.
Fredrick held on for dear life, knowing that if he fell he would be impaled or splattered on the debris below, along with his master. The cabinet door began to groan with the weight put on it. Though it was completely made of metal, the bolts cannot hold too much weight that they were not designed to hold. As Fredrick swung there, straining to keep hold of KnightSpector and the cabinet door, he heard a loud pop, like a knuckle cracking only much louder, and felt a searing pain go through his arm that held onto the cabinet door. He figured that he dislocated his shoulder but didn't want to know for sure. "Where is help when you need it?" Fredrick asked himself aloud, with much strain. One of the bolts bursted and the cabinet door dropped a foot and a half. One bolt left and the door, Fredrick, and KnightSpector would fall down ten and a half feet.

The apparition continued along closely behind the Nydus Worm until it suddenly burst through into a small cave lined with pulsating black creep. Tied to the sides by sinewy string of flesh were the Blood Wraith scouts, Goraem, and the two droids. The apparatus let go of the Nydus Worm as it turned and burrowed downwards, flinging the apparatus into the gooey wall, throwing red bloody fluid toward Goraem, waking him silently.
Quietly the apparatus floated up to Goraem and intensified the psi energy in his hand. Then in one touch, he burned away the bindings on Goraem, setting him free. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fredrick felt a soft pulsating shock wave push on his lower back, gently lowering the speed of his descent until his feet touched the ground in the manner an angel would land whilst spiriting away dead souls. Then an eruption of blue light emanated from under the mass of support beams and twisted metal. Blue liquid began to seep out of the pile and float up, much like how air reacts when deep under water. Then as if guided by an invisible hand, each bubble of liquid joined another, slowly forming a torso, a long elongated, but still relatively think neck, ending in a small ellipse. Then the arm-like protrusions, each ending in a hand with 3 digits. Then finally a "foot" began to form, similar to one of a slug or snail. "I. Am. Free." it grumbled in a low-pitched voice and a speech pattern similar to a wizened old Protoss, opened it's radiant yellow horizontal eye-"slits" located upon the ellipse. "What are you!?" Fredrick screamed in terror, throwing all his conditioning and training to the wind. "I, have no name. I, do not know where I am. Nor, do I know who I am." the creature answered, closing it's eye's, and bent his head forward as if in deep thought, "Save. My only memory, perhaps implanted, but a memory no less. I, am to help any nearby organism survive. I, must follow my programming." it finally said. Reaching out with his blue fluid arms, he enveloped Fredricks shoulder and KnightSpector completely. Fredrick suddenly felt a rush of sensation, a tickling sensation in the pit of his stomach he had never experienced before. He was blissfully and completely happy. The pain in his shoulder subsided, then the blue fluid retreated. Fredrick had regained the felling in his arm and KnightSpector suddenly awoke, fully colored and awake. His eyes even shown more furiously than before, practically radiating psionic power. "I bestow myself the alias of Medens." Medens then turned his head back to Fredrick. "I must find my creator. Serve him. Ask him more about my purpose of existance. Will you help me Fredrick?" "How did you know my name?" "I simply read it from your mind boy. I am psionic, much like your friend there, but much, much stronger." |

"Then Medens, you may come along. We are searching for our friends." Fredrick said.
Fredrick could feel that his arm no longer hurt and his energy was replenished with the presence of Medens. Even KnightSpector could feel the massive radiating energy. He hadn't felt this much energy since being in the Temple before the transformation process. The trio left the room through a intact doorway, into the darkness. KnightSpector at the lead, headed them into a direction unknown.

Chapter 2 : Isle of Medens Slowly Medens trudged along behind Fredrick and KnightSpector, intrigued by various things they passed. Creep, carcasses, and sometimes even other experiments still in incubation. "We have to flee this Space Station." Fredrick grumbled to KnightSpector, "I think the station itself is what is trying to get to us." "Hush. If that is so, don't let it hear you." Medens replied to the comment. Suddenly Medens began to twist and turn, his genetic make up changing, and then Prelate appeared in his place. 'What in the name of Khas?' KnightSpector retorted in surprise to the now solid Prelate. "This experiment is able to double as a shape shifting messenger. I am currently directly below you in the cloning centers. We need you and the Fuernai NOW!" and then Medens suddenly changed back to himself, dazzled at the experience. KnightSpector ignited his warp blade and tabbed it through the floor panels, and began to cut a circle in the ground. Then suddenly the floor gave away, landing the trio directly into a massive battle between surviving ally forces and a large army of mutant gaurds. |

Fredrick extended his psi blades and activated his shields. With that he charged into the battle. The Blood Wraiths, Clones, Droids, and Fredrick held the lines of mutants back. KnightSpector stood back and with Goraem, the two threw psi storms and plagues into the masses of mutants that approached from the darkness.
Hundreds of broken bodies filled the darkness. But no matter what happened to the masses of mutants, more filled the darkness. 'I have had enough of this,' KnightSpector sighed. 'We need to get out of here before we are overrun.' KnightSpector looked at Prelate, expecting something from the wizened Dark Templar.

Prelate stared at KnightSpector and promptly answered, "I got nothin, we can't abandon to gestating and young clones to infestation. Nor can we stave off the limitless creatures."
Goraem stepped up and pitched an idea, "In one of the alternate futures I saw, we used a crystal to jump the entire room to another location." Prelate pondered for a second and then pulled out a green crystal. "This is my last return crystal. It brings me and anything indirectly or directly touching me to the Isle of Healing, a planet hidden away that I go to for rejuvenation. I'll just set it on the ground and teleport the whole room to the isle. NOW!" The crystal flashed and the room shook and in a sudden earthshaking squeal they were sent ricocheting around the room, only the heavy walker managed to stay it's ground. The the shaking stopped and everyone got up, the remaining mutants that were in the room were destroyed by the impact of ricocheting, several clones were also injured. "Now I know how my clothes feel in the washer and dryer." Fredrick gasped as he stuck his head out of the dog-piled group. "Don't worry, the healing fluid here is the same material the Fuernai are made of." Prelate commented as he signaled toward Medens. "This is where I let their species colonized after I created them. It will be adequate for a resting area for us. There is also abundant food here." Prelate continued, taking notice of Fredricks look of disdain at the thought of no real food. "Come, come, I'll take all of your to the resort." "Theres a resort here?" 45 asked. "Finest in the galaxy. My very own set of mansions are here, one for every 10 of us, good thing each of them have ten bedrooms." |

'You never cease to amaze me, Prelate.' KnightSpector said. 'I would never have seen you with a luxery hotel on a planet that is tucked away from everyone.'
Goraem trudged towards me from the group of confused clones. "Master, my warriors and I are going to go back to the Realm of Shadows, if our assistance is no longer required that is." The Shaman said. 'You may return to the Realm.' KnightSpector said. Goraem and the Blood Wraiths disappeared. 'So, Prelate. Do you have a plan for retaking your laboratory?' KnightSpector asked. "Yeah, we must figure out a plan. You said earlier that the lab is also a super weapon. We must stop Xylet and Xiam before they use it." Fredrick chided in. "Sir, if I may speak freely," Prelate nodded, "what is the importance of the super weapon to begin with?" 45 asked. The three looked at Prelate, awaiting his answer.

Prelate sighed, "I was hoping I wouldn't have to tell everyone what the weapon can do." he reached into his cloak and brought out a holocron. Suddenly a hologram of the station shot up and with a touch of a button it zoomed in at the bottom tip of the station where a animation began to the super-weapon charging up. A ring made of Khaydarin crystal ring was ejected out into space where it began to spin and accelerate until it was blurred, then wavy energy began to transmit from the ring to tip which focused it into a ball. The vewiwer then zoomed out to reveal the station over a lush planet. The ball was fired into the planet and in a flash of light, the wrold turned barren. The atmostphere, bioshpere and hydrosphere was suddenly gone. Then a beam of concentrated light shot at the tip which turned it into a ball, then the tip opened up and took the ball of light in. "As I originaly said, it was a defensive DNA absorbtion ray, but that is only a qaurter of it." Suddenly energy in a wavy pattern began to be absorbed into the Khaydarin ring. Then the station began to tilt, toward the sun of the system. Again the tip opened up, but this time, the ball came back out, diffrent. Instead of pulsating with life energy, it now look devoid of it, it had become a unnatural black and red, wisping comsim energy into itslef. Then is was launched. At near lightspeed, it travel into the star and caused it to swell then collapse, and unlike most supernova's it did not spew anything out, it was just absorbed into a black hole, and in the middle, stabilizing the gravitaional anonomly was the ball of anti-energy. And the orbiting planets began to fall into the hole at a rapid rate. In a mater of minutes the entire sytem of planets was gone. The anti-energy ball detonated and caused the black hole to consume itself, leaving no trace that the place even existed. "And thats not all. The station can then ue the psionic energy it siphoned from all beings on the world and use it as a super-laser, destroying any planet. And then the final stage of the attack sequence is it cloning the creatures on that world and combining them into an army of Xenomorphs for retaliation against the enemy nation."
The look of horror was clear on the groups face. "The Xel'Naga had such a weapon?" Fredrick asked skepticy, "Then they shouldn't have been wiped out by the Zerg." "This was a warship, not a world ship. The Xel'Naga felt that they had no need for weapons anymore, they left hundreds of these ships at the edge of the Galaxy, most of them fell to astroids and other natural space powers. This was the only one in existance, even at that time. Parked over the Dark Moon of Aiur, the one cloaked and contains an abandoned Xel'Naga research facility which still eludes Protoss,, Terran, or Zerg detection." |

KnightSpector looked as if a gondark had spit on him, his face was long and his eyes looked hurt.
'So, they did it, didn't they? They created the very weapon that Xylet may have been destined to use. I can never feel more hurt by our creators than now.' KnightSpector said. 'It is one thing to create a species to defend yourself then eventually cripple your enemy. But wiping out entire solar systems is the ultimate barbarious act. We must proceed with caution from here, or else we may run into the greatest problem this Universe has ever seen.' Fredrick perked up. "Master, do you have a plan?" 'No, but I fear we must consolidate our forces in order to have precise strategic strikes against our enemy. We cannot and shall not wage a direct war. We will have to utilize strategy that the Protoss are too prideful to use. Only that will help us. A head on strike will end any resistance that we rise against Xylet.' KnightSpector said. 45 looked around. "What can we do? If a direct strike is out of the question?" 'I say we gather forces and prepare outposts upon several worlds. We must protect them from this super-weapon that the Xel'Naga have created. I will lead an outpost on Argus Prime, the local population knows and supports me there. I shall have no problem massing forces there. Fredrick will take the outer regions of the galaxy, he should use this as a live-fire exercise. Remember your training and stay in touch, I will help when I can. Prelate, what are you going to do?' KnightSpector commented.

Prelate stared at KnightSpector and laughed.
"What will I do? What will I do!? I'm going stay here and relax with the troops. And also to rally all those whom are still loyal to me. The isle is not only a place of healing, but it is the bunker I retreat to during war. I will send the signal that the time has come again for an intervention." he then walked out of the room and into the blinding light that penetrated the room through the doorway. The clones followed and all that were left in the cloning center were some white clothed clones KnightSpector and Fredrick. "Why are you staying?" Fredrick asked. "We have to look after the budding clones, help assemble more clones. And furthermore convert this into an infirmary." KnightSpector inclined his head and beckoned Frederick to leave with him. |

'I never meant that he was going to do nothing. I never meant that I was unloyal. But I feel that our alliegance is not just to Prelate, but to all that oppose Xylet.' KnightSpector said with a surprised and disappointed voice.
"Don't worry master. I'm sure that Prelate doesn't think you are deserting him." Fredrick said to comfort KnightSpector. 'Well, it matters not. My duty, for now, is to defend others and mass forces in the outlying systems. I have just one request for you. I want you to drop your name for now. You will be called Shadow, you shall act according to your own will, until we are reunited with peace. Think using your training and you will be sure to do fine. I will send forces to the planet that you choose to fortify. Contact me once you are set up.' KnightSpector told his apprentice. "Yes master. I will." Shadow said. The pair split away and found two spaceships to transport them away from the hidden resort planet.

Yeah, Zas was the first Zerg Cerebrate to fall. Zeratul got him good.
____________________________________________________________________________________ KnightSpector lifted the ARC-170 that he found and left the Isle of Healing, closely followed by Shadow in a Eta-2 Interceptor. Once the pair were back in the Korpulu Sector, hey split off from each there. Knightpector pointed his ARC-170 to a planet outside the edges of the Sector. Argus Prime, a planet he saved from Zerg invasion, sat alone amongst thousands of moons. Each moon had life on them, varying greatly from the ohers. Millions, if not billions, of species roamed the moons and the large planet. Only once had KnightSpector traveled beyond the edges of the Orian, Korpulu, and Targus Sectors to the distant Earth. From his travels, he saw some of the largest planets but none were as large as Argus Prime. Though this lonely planet basked in a distant nebula, there were no flaws in its beauty. KnightSpector lowered his vessel into a decent upon the planet's capital, New Hanover. Though the UED protects this planet, their presence had not been seen or felt since the Brood War. Either the forces were drawn from this planet for the initial UED invasion of the Korpulu Sector or the forces retreated with Admiral DeGualle and were destroyed. KnightSpector glided into the atmosphere and landed on the outskirts of the large settlement. Leaving the ARC-170, KnightSpector approached the city, not bothering to hide himself. When KnightSpector had entered the city, people were waiting for him. The Governor stood waiting to greet the Protoss. "Welcome back to our humbled planet, Master Antioch." The Governor said with a beaming smile. "I had a feeling that you would return." 'I am glad to see that you are still Governor.' KnightSpector said. 'I still see that your planet breams with a great hospitality and I thank you for offering it.' "No matter that, Master Antioch. We have always found that if we are hospitable then more people would arrive here, our tourism alone has increased. People from as far away as Earth are arriving every few weeks. But still, none of this would be possible if you had not repelled the Zerg from our planetary system." The Governor said. 'I am just doing my job to protect the universe.' KnightSpector said, obiously being modest. "What can Argus Prime do for you?" The Governor finally asked as we were entering the main street of New Hanover. 'Well, I wanted to ask if I could use your planetary system as a base of operations.' KnightSpector said. "What is the trouble?" The Governor asked. 'There has been a rise of a new evil. One far more destructive than the Zerg.' KnightSpector said, his head dropped and his voice was solemn. "Is there any way that we can help?" The Governor asked the Protoss, concern began to lace his voice. 'No, I have a group to handle this problem. We are the last line of defense from this foe.' The Protoss said. "I give you my permission, in fact, if you ever are in need of help, the planet of Argus Prime will provide you with whatever you need." The Governor offered. 'Thank you Governor. I will safeguard this system. I will also ask for any assistance I may require. Thank you.' I said and bowed. I returned to my ARC-170 and lifted off to find a suitable location on the planet for a main base.

Wow Knight, your really pulling out all the plugs.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Over the small resort planet, the Tranquility materialized overhead, just in time to see two small transports jump to Warp Space. Zasz smiled at the sight of the ships, "Looks like masters already made it here. The old guy is harder to kill than the Galaxy." "Looks like the planetary cloaking satellites have been taken down for repairs. Gravity Well Generators still active in orbit and laser point defense systems around the area are still on. Scanner jamming stations operational and battle-ring operational. Should we enter the code to activate system shielding and cloak?" the pilot droids said in the same monotone voice they were known for. "Just activate the cloaking, don't want anyone to see a plasma shield around a planetary system, to suspicious, eh?" the Lieutenant replied. "Roger, roger." "Open the Tranquility's docking bay," Zasz then saw the look on the confused motions of the droid, "the lever by the words Dock at Station(s)" As the droid pulled the lever, one side of the huge battle-rin around the planet opened to reveal a open hangarr, just large enough to accomidate the ship and a few escorts, sadly this day, the Tranqulity traveled alone. "Open communications with the lunar construction yard, we're gonna need ships to win this war." Zasz finally uttered as the docked into the hangar bay. |
