"Now, I am Polisce Verunx. Your Khaydarin Arts teacher. I will help you unravel the secrets of the Khaydarin Crytal. The one fundamental part of every Protoss' life." the old Templar said, writing elaborate words on a golden plane on the wall with a small rod of Khaydarin Keira had seen so many times before.
"The crystal seems to be the deepest mystery that only the Xel'naga could really master...." as Davus droned on, some of the students took out small pillows onto their desks and commenced to nap. "Why does it seem that he's reciting a textbook?" Keira made out s small whisper of a thought speak. It sounded quite feminine. "I don't know. But the higher years always bring sleepwear into this room." "I can't wait for Dr. Atioch's class. He just signed up and are teaching first year's!" another voice came, this one more mascular. "And because of the inner structure of the crystal..." The monotone voice of the Professor slowly put Keira to sleep. A dream came to her during this time... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ A gold shining shuttle was zooming through the dark sky of a strange and distant planet. It seemed much like Aiur. A large temple stood in the distance, forshadowing the dark forest. a small gate opened to reveal a landing hatch. Upon the landing hatch stood a short humonoid. About 1 meter tall. bearing red skin and dark marks of it's skin... |

Interesting dream. But I am confused about what the other Protoss students were saying. The text is so tiny. Could you fix that please.

The rocky temple doors closed. The scenary suddenly changed. All was black. Then in a churning whirpool of red a voice of what seemed to be shattered mans voice cryed out. Keira couldn't understand most of the language but some was in glactic Baisc she could make out.
"Help... Apocalypse... The Lords... Coming back. KnightSpector. Only one. Save us..." ***************************************************************************** KRAYYYYNG the bell rung once in a jolting blow, waking Keira from her nap. She looked around to see the others packing up and slinging their bags over their shoulders. "OK, so where do I go next?" she flipped her medallion out. Unconventional battle tactics with Dr. Antioch ****************************************************************************** At the door of the an oddly symboled door that stood out from the others in the hall. The door slowly slid open to reveal the Dark Templapr wearing the weird armor. "Hello. Class is about to start." |

The class was fairly empty. Only five other students were present.
'To begin. I know you are all wondering why there are little students in here. All of you are thinking that but one.' I turned to look at the newest student, Keira. 'I am Doctor Antioch and this begins my class on unconventional battle tactics. To explain why there are so few of you I will tell you that the brightest and quickest can make this class only through my selection. I am very picky of my students and all of you have met and exceeded my expectations. I first shall introduce my room and then you will introduce yourselves to me.' I said as I walked to a panel on the wall. I pressed a button on the panel and the back wall split open, revealing a simulator. I walked into the simulator and beckoned the other students to follow. 'This is where most of our learning will be held. I do not waste time with books, for there are no books written on unconventional battle tactics. By my definition, unconventional battle tactics is not like the Terran meaning, which is something that is considered to be cheating. An example is using several Ghosts to nuke a whole world just to avoid conflict. No here the meaning is the use of skills, skills that I have worked long and hard to master. This skills are the ability to cloak, use psionics, and use whatever you can as a weapon. I know that all but one of you are from the Dark Templar caste, so I will tell you now that I do not tolerate any sort of abuse on this person.' I glanced around and quickly locked eyes with Keira, who was staring at me in a matter other than the admiration that the others were giving me. I walk around and inspect the class of six Protoss students. I look for the strongest and look for the wisest. I put my hand on both of their shoulders. 'You two will introduce yourselves first.' 'I am ....' one began. 'No not by telling your name, for I know it because I selected you. I want you to fight a simulation. This is what I mean by introducing yourselves. The simulator must take measurements so that as you progress the machine will always challenge you.' I said shaking my head at the Dark Templar. The two stepped forward and I activated the machine. First scans swept over the two, then a series of targets ran up, one a little harder than the next. Lastly, a series of questions were asked to test intelligence. When they were done, I went up and put my hand on Keira and another student.

The machine swept a laser scan over her body.
DNA match... Psionics match... ****yzing capabilities.... Test Completed. Initiating test. Two probe droids appeared to her left. Taking a large step forward, she lashed a psionic whip out of her bracer and neatly sliced the droids simutaneosly in two. Calculating Battle Tactics.... ****yzation complete... Activating level 9 training... 'Computer stop.' KnightSpector suddenly interjected. 'That will be enough.' 'Dr. Antoich why did yous stop me?' Keira asked, her big blue eyes gleaming in the sunlight. 'There must be a malfunction. Even fully trained Zealots don't reach level 9 in training. I willl have to fix the computer.' Not really. This computer was desighned by me. There are no flaws. She must have something special to have the computer reconize her as a level 9 so early on. Knight thought to himself. 'Keira. See me after class.' |

Keira stayed after the bell rung. I sat there staring at her. I have only encountered one other that was greater than a level 9 on the first simulation. That person is my apprentice, one person I don't wish to reveal to just anyone. I fear that it will draw suspicion to my dealings.
Finally I spoke, 'Keira. As you can probably guess, you are the only Auir Protoss in my class. Why do you think that is?' I asked her. 'I...I don't know.' Keira said. 'It is because you have more talents than are imaginable than an ordinary Protoss, both on Auir and Shakuras. You have more than meets the eye. Don't take just my word for it. My apprentice tells me that you power scale far exceeds that of two mighty High Templars during the moment when they emerge from their merging into an Archon.' I state. 'Sir, you must be mistaken, you don't have anyone talking to you.' Keira said, unsure of the things that I meant. 'You above all Protoss should know that the unseen don't have to be unheard or unfelt. Dark Templar pride themselves with the ability to cloak, a skill never before seen until after the Eon of Strife. But you probably know all of the details. Meanwhile, Auir Protoss have their own pride set into the fact that their psionics are the key to his powers, as Zealots and High Templars oftenly show. Never before have I seen or acknowledged the power of a female Auir Protoss to be greater than a High Templar, which is a male position only. Maybe this will bring about a change within the Protoss social structure. Enough of my lecturing. I must ask you something before I write you a pass to the next class. Have you ever achieved any great feats that you could not explain yourself, that you were never trained to do? Is there anything unusual that you must tell me, for I will not judge you as harshly as the dumb Dark Templar in our class will, not nearly as harshly if harsh at all?' I said. 'No there is nothing.' Keira said. I made a little note, handed it to the young Protoss, then said, 'You are dismissed then.' As Keira left, she noticed me sitting down and looking over the computer data. She noticed my puzzled look and then hurried out.

Are you sure that Templars can only be male? Selendis will be the executor during the events of SC2. The executor is leader of the templar so they should be able to be female right? I believe this is further in the future than you fanfic though so maybe at this time there can be no female templar.
Great fanfic. Keep up the good work. |

Also, KnightSpector may be the honorary professor of Protoss History but he has been gone so long that he really has no clue what most of the Protoss history looks like. For all he knows there are female Templars, just he has never seen one. That can be one explaination, among others.

Ok. I thought it was before the events of Deception, but it is afterward. Continue.

Oh, sorry if Deception is not entirely clear. It starts just about the same time the Eon of Strife is afflicting the Protoss. KnightSpector is pushing the Terrans into the Koprulu Sector so that the events seen in StarCraft will actually happen. That is why it starts with Knight saying that he has been called a corrupter and the Agent of Chaos, he is trying to make the events seen in the future happen. He may seem to manipulate events but since they are already in the future he really isn't manipulative. It is funny but Terrans and normal Protoss don't usually understand, hence the reason Knight acknowledges the thoughts of himself being superior to others. The people he meets, with the exception of Prelate, are not as complex as he wishes. KnightSpector feels so lonely because no one can match his power or wit. But that, I hope, can be explained as the stories in progress continue.

Trekking through the chaos of free roam, Keira rammed her way into the open school grounds. Many of the Protoss were either quizzing or dueling each other.
"You new?" came an abrupt thought-speak voice. Keira turned around to see a tall Protoss wearing long flowing robes ad a large gnash across one of his eyes. "Oh, sorry sir." she curtseyed. "Answer the question." he said again, this time more hostile. "Yes sir. What do you do at this school?" Keira asked. "That does not concern you." he said, waving a stump of what was once a hand. "What happened to your hand!" Keira screamed, terrified at the sight. "That is what happens in ar young one. A zergling ambushes your team and bites your hand." "You've seen combat?" Keira asked staring at the Templar's light-blue scarred face. "Many times. Now leave me." he dismissed and stormed off into the academy. Towering over most of the Protoss. The bell rang. Scratch Scratch report to the Psionics centre, to 45 degrees of your current position. |

Stepping into the gold room, Keira gasped. There standing in the front was the Templar from before. His eye's seemed to be glowing in the darkened room.
"Take a seat templar child." he said, openly hostile. "Yes sir." Keira said politly, hurrying to one of the open seats. "This class is HARD. I will tell you that for now." the templar roared, his thought-speak rebounding off the walls. "I am Prof. Itede. You will be pushed to your limits and further in this class." he roared, banging down his Khaydarin rod with his left hand. Sending a shockwave around the room. "First of all. You will show me the extent of your power!" he yelled again, slamming down a crystaline receptor. "Each of you will zap the crystal with all your power, the power will be recorded in the above screen. Benane your up." A dark templar walked up, trembling just enough to send his armor into a klinking sound. He raised both his hands and shot out a spark of red lightning. It failed to reach the crystal. "Pathetic! Next!" The templar behind him stood up. Raising one hand, blue cackling lightning shot from his hand and hit the crystal. The crystal glowed with anticipation and shot out of the crystal and rebounded across the room, causing out bursts of surprise. "789 volts. Very nice. Next!" Keira stepped up. "Sir. I do not know how to make lightning," "You will do it." "But, I don't know how." Swiftly, Itede grabbed a shikma from behind him and flung it at Keira. Keira screamed and held out her hands... BBBBBBBZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZT a large spark of energy flew out of her palms and struck the shikma in mid-air, causing it to rebound and fall to the floor harmlessly. The lightning richocheted around the room, sending shockwaves as it continued to bounce around, refracting everytime it ccame in contact with metal. But the whole room was metal. Soon enough, the whole room was like a laser grid, no one dared to move into the crackling electric lasers. "I'll call KnightSpector, he has my rubber sheild." the professor said, moving out of the room casually, leaving the entire class hanging in awkward positions. |
