yes yes yes, I'm sorry, I had lost my way.
---

Vareoo continued on his way through the fog, shrouded by the a wafting smoky darkness that occluded him from view. The mountains, that's where the flower is. Holding the old leather bound book tight in both arms he stared through the thick mist to see the looming triangular figures. And there is where I will find the crystal capable of powering my weapon. Vareoo gave a visual check over the black box in floating in front of him. What he had done to Fredrick he didn't know, but it felt good. The power coursing through his arm the scream of pain. He craved for it, the feeling, the exhilaration of violence. Yes he wanted it. Soon he will get it, soon he will control everybody here and soon his blood lust may be satisfied.

Vareoo was in the middle of his meglomanic thought when a long spear ripped into the ground in front of him followed immediately by rapid pounding noises on the ground. Vareoo turned and round and frowned, a large bubble of clear air was charging toward him, but what made him upset was what was in the bubble. Large humanoid quadrupeds were galloping toward him and from what he could make out they were adorned with black and green each of them holding a long shaft that ended in a sharp metal head.

In a stroke of his hand he fired the black lightning again, streaking across the air and blasting apart the mist it directly hit the air bubble and just happened the split in the middle and deflect.

Vareoo scowled and moved forward at a rapid rate, but the spears rained down on him, dissipating the darkness that protected him and impaling his right arm. He cried in pain and fell to the ground, the book fell open besides him.

Entering Prelate's secret laboratory, which we had talked in seemingly long ago. I looked at the torches on the walls and filled them with flames, lighting the vast room. My eyes smiled as they came across the sight of my armor mounted upon the far wall.

I went to a work bench and gathered materials. I turned to see Keira standing at the doorway.

'You are allowed to enter, youngling. I really need your help. Come, sit down.' I said.

Keira cautiously stepped forward and sat on a bench across from me.

'I must reveal something to you, something that you may have pieced together already. Dorquar'ii is not who everyone thinks he is. He is Shadow, from the Xylet Campaigns. He is also my apprentice, the Terran that you met in my secret lab. His life is at stake and I feel responsible, I didn't take the full extents of my will to protect him. If he dies, or is unable to fulfill his destiny, it will be my fault. I don't want to abandon Fredrick to a fate that he should have never been placed. So, I plan on making something to give him his strength back, even if that means he never finds out. I will attempt to create as close of a replica of his muscles as possible. I need your help, because you are a fair mechanic and you have had close contact with him before. Will you help me?' I asked, pain filled my eyes.

"But, but..." Keira began to stammer, "what can I do!? I'm only a student and your an age old Protoss professor, if you can't do it what help am I!?"

"You know what you can do Keira, I know you can mold nature. The crystal that Prelate gave you, it can help me fix my apprentice. Please, at least try." KnightSpector replied sadly.

Keira gave him a pitiful stare, "I, I can't I don't know how, he is much more skilled than me."

"At the darkest hour,
the night when all hope has gone.
There shall then bloom a flower,
and near it shall be a fawn.
Upon the darkest hour,
the blood of such a beautiful creature be spilled,
tears shall flood the halls of Aiur.
Upon the darkest hour,
the skies turn red with hellfire.
Upon our darkest hour,
one angel shall emerge to heal the fawn of Aiur.
" KnightSpector recited softly.

"What was that?" Keira asked.

"It's an ancient poem from before the Aeon of Strife, from before the great teachers. It is the oldest piece of literature known to our race. It's a foreshadowing."

"It's beautiful, might I ask who wrote it?" Keira asked not expecting an answer.

"Prelate. He said it would make sense once I had reached the point in life where I could relate, it's a universal poem. Can't you see? The flower is the one that Vareoo went after, Fredrick is the fawn..." KnightSpector cried.

"And I am the angel..." Keira finished.

KnightSpector nodded, his wings drooping far below his shoulders. "Therefore if you can't help, no one can."

"I can try my best then." Keira sighed staring into the flaming torches. "The sky turn red with hellfire...." she quietly thought.

When first started to work in silence. The only noises were the clanking of metal pieces and the sounds of assembly. We worked proficiently, but I was beginning to become annoyed of such silence.

As such, I began to mutter the words of a song from so many years ago. A song that I was taught by my father. I hummed and muttered the song as I worked.

Meanwhile, my fingers were being sliced open by the sharp, delicate pieces of metal I assembled. The servos and electrical wirings were small, I began to pull more and more of Prelate's lab equipment to continue putting the pieces together.

I finished making one of the many servos to power the muscles, but blue blood dripped from my injured fingers. My eyes frowned but I pulled together all the necessary materials to reconstruct Fredrick's chest and abdomen, Keira working on the back mechanical muscles.

An hour into the long, painstaking work, Keira picking up the tiny pieces to begin making a servo.

'No, Keira. Leave them to me. I am not the one that must fight soon, you must keep your strength.' I said quietly and slowly.

'If I don't make one, then your apprentice doesn't have a chance. You need my help, and I will do whatever there is to be done to give it.' Keira said.

'You don't understand, Keira. All the servos must be the same for them to work together.' I countered, trying to force myself into doing the job I knew she was capable to do.

I continued to piece the larger metal plates together as Keira crossed her arms and stared at me. I glanced up, and quickly back down, to check her gaze. I felt disheartened, but I continued to go in silence. Even the songs of my childhood were of no comfort from Keira's silent questioning stare.

'You said that few Protoss understand you, what did you mean by it?' Keira asked.

I put the metal pieces, soaking in my blood, down and looked into the youngling's eyes.

'I gave my entire life to protecting the Protoss race. I wanted to be a great warrior, like my father. Yes, I was exiled for interfering in the affairs of Terrans. But I felt it was necessary to do so. Adun, my friend until the end, wished to help me stay on the "lighter path." It now seems so pointless that I didn't take it. But, upon my exile I went to Braxis and constructed my mysterious armor. My life, at that moment, changed forever. It then became my goal to correct the natural order of this dimension. Yes, the Zerg still exist here, but they are few and barely organized. Yes, there are hybrids, somewhere, out there that must be fought with when they emerge. But now that the peace amongst the Protoss have been achieved, my time is nearing its end.' I said, my heart filled with the memories I tried so hard to drown.

I looked back down and worked on the mechanical muscles, in forced, painful silence.

Keira stared at the professors bloody hands and with a sudden impulse she waved her hand across the cuts, instantly the flesh grew anew and the blood seeped back into his skin.

"You can heal others." KnightSpector suddenly said. "Can you do the same to my apprentice?"

"I don't know, I never really done it before." Keira shrugged sadly, "I don't think I can heal such a wound as on Doraqu'i- er... Frederick."

KnightSpector sadly went back to work, the small gadgets and gizmos whirred here and there momentarily before dieing down after they were placed and the faint crackle of fire was the only sound within the room. Eventually Keira left leaving KnightSpector to his business.

"Weapons at the ready." the Prelate ordered. striding in front of a group of clones clad in gold armor. In fact all they were wearing was covered in 24 karat gold, from their guns to their backpacks and even to their visors, all covered with gold foil. And with the muffled clanking of all this gold the group of 26 moved through the mist toward the shadowy forest ahead.

"Nightvision on. No telling what's in the forest." the captain of the group ordered. A reply was a cacophony of clicks.

Prelate looked back at the clones and at the long golden blasters held at shoulder height. "Just keep your weapons at ready no need to be so alert." Instantly the group pointed the gun barrels down at 45 degrees, stood straight and lowered the main body to their chests. The group continued their march into the forest until Prelate stumbled over a leather bound book. Opening it he began to read...

I wonder what Keira is going to do? Not to mention that I am on the edge of my seat for the mystery that will be revealed with the contents of the book.

Though, I must state that there isn't currently enough for me to correspond to with any of my characters, sadly.

"On the fourteenth day of our travel up through the mountains, already past the farthest backwater outpost. Our supplies were thin and all of us starving. Our six man team has already fallen to three. But lest our morals be crushed as the the holy flame glows every brighter whilst we moved across the treacherous terrain. Finally after another full moon we had reached the fabled meadow within the mountains. Instantly our stomachs were filled and our thirsts quenched and the holy flame grew to unheard of luminescence. We found a tranquil pond near the middle of the meadow where a small crystal like lily flower floated the holy flame jumped toward the flower, lighting it like a match and soon we were surrounded, caught in a spectacle of stimuli. Brilliant colors, dancing lights, beautiful cacophonies, wafting ambrosia. A swarm of birds had erupted from the flame as if it was a gate. The fliers filled the valley with a soft breeze and a melancholy of wings. It was truly beautiful, for the first time we finally understood what it meant to live, to be part of the grand machine. Alas unbeknownst to us a maliceful entity followed us. The dark shadow swallowed the birds and silenced them. The beat of two leathery wings, the dark crimson eyes full of hatred, a black hide stronger than stone. The size of the beast was awe-inspiring, it was easily seven polu tall, greater than any other moving creature. Green flames spew forth from its gaping maw with its long tail it had swiped us toward the sides. Reaching for the flower... the rest of the pages concerning this are torn out." Prelate grumbled.

I wonder what this means. I wonder if Kiera or Fredrick have any part to play in the role of the flower, besides being the angel and the fawn.

Pocketing the book, Prelate instructed the group to proceed into the forest and following orders the clones marched into the brush snapping branches and crushing twigs below their feet. Prelate stared blankly ahead not heading the tree limbs scraping across his face and tearing into the gold plating on his armor.

Within 5 minutes of entering the forest, the tall broad leaf trees blocked out all sunlight and the luminescence of lichens and moss lit the way. The majority of the group continued unfazed but one of the troops which was fearful of the dark stayed behind. Soon after that rhythmic thudding rang across the dark trees dwarfing the natural cacophony of the forest. Instinctively the clones raised their weapons and began to point them in all directions. The white mist moved away, push be an invisible force and a Zantaboan moved forward into view but still hiding the majority of himself in the dark.

"What are you people doing here. It was agreed that you were not to trespass the vegetation line." a Zantaboan grumbled as he approached out of the shadows.

"And you agreed as the representative of your people that none of the students were to come to any harm by the Zantaboan people." Prelate replied.

"The boy has not been harmed." said finally stepping completely out of the shadows into the soft green light from nearby moss. Representative Mumos had a very impressive physic, completely covered in muscles and brown hair. Exposed skin on the upper half of his body was adorned with continuous flowing designs.

Prelate stood undeterred by the intimidation attempt by the Zantaboan, "Where is the boy."

"He is a danger, so we have dealt with him."

"Where is the boy." Prelate repeated.

"Where all miscreants go." Moros stated.

"Look, stop with the games you freak, we're not playing, WHERE IS THE KID!?" roared one of the clones threateningly pointing the barrel of his weapon at the Zantaboans face.

Moros didn't as much blink as he simply swatted the clone backwards into a tree with his arm. Moros returned his gaze to Prelate.

"Where is the boy." Prelate repeated yet again.

Moros continued with his steely gaze and all was silent taken into exception the groaning of a clone recuperating after being thrown into a tree. Finally after a few minutes a female Zantaboan approached into the clearing and broke the silence.

"The boy is up in the mountain range, in a small meadow in a valley within a valley." she said, her eyes soft with guilty or pity, perhaps both.

Moros shot the female a sharp look and said something in their native language. She retaliated and retreated back into the depths of the shadows. Moros turned around and walked up to Prelate their aces nearly touching. In a deep growl he said, "Stay away from that place. If you do not wish to doom us all." And with that Moros turned around and the rest of the Zantaboans followed him into the darkness.

Prelate turned to the injured clone and helped him up.

"Strong bastards aren't they." he grumbled softly clutching his side where he hit the tree. Prelate nodded and led the group into the darkness.

Around them the darkness swirled in with the mist and the forest was eerily quiet and still. The leaves dared not twitch as the group snaked across the forest. Small creaks from the tightening grips of the unnerved clones.

Keira sat outside of the torch lit room pondering the message. Hellfire... hellfire... that word resonated through her mind echoing across the otherwise blank emptiness. At every thought she felt a faint warmth on the front of her neck. Absent-minded she reached there and touched the crystal completely ignoring the glowing and swirling clouds within. With a sigh she got up and headed back to her room and suddenly she bumped into one of the other contestants. He was tall, much taller than an average Protoss, he had dark blue skin that was flawless and had long flowing nerve endings that obviously identified as a Templar. He cast a dark deep resonating look with his almond shaped eyes.

"Why were you there." he asked softly, something Keira didn't expect from his stiff stature.

Keira stared at him hoping she didn't have to answer. The contestant ignored the silence and looked at the door behind her. "Professor KnightSpector is behind that door is he not?"

"What do you know about it." Keira snapped at the suspicious question. Slyly he reached for a small gold trinket around his wrist and showed her the small rounded Khaydarin on it. The crystal was deep blue and beautifully embroidered with thin gold swirls and red gems that came together in the thickest part to form a symbol of a bird in full flight with it's wings outstretched. "That badge means nothing here." Keira dismissed the emblem of authority.

The tall Protoss kept his eyes at the door as if he was trying to determine what was going on behind it. Then he switched to Keira and after a few minutes he shoved her out of the way and burst into the room to find it empty.
