Crazy Ideas for Zerg

This is two of my crazy ideas...

Creep Wall
Tech: Hatchery
Cost: Unknown
Attack: None
Hit Points: 500
Note: Must be built on creep

A Zerg drone makes a wall of creep that acts like a barrier to enemy land forces. The Zerg can pass freely through the wall and is a good defensive structure, especially by narrow choke points.


Zergian Insects
Tech: Hive
Cost: Unknown
Range: 6
Note: Hive building upgrade
Damage: 1 damage per second

The Hive building is surrounded by a cloud of billions of small Zergian Insects. Any enemy land units that walks into this cloud suffers small damage over time. It would look like the Hive building has a permanent dark swarm over it... while hearing insects buzzing... would be a pretty cool effect.
I thought it would be cool to actually feel like your in a Hive.


These two ideas are not game changing by any means but would add a little more flavor and texture to a Zerg base. Can be balanced accordingly.

The Creep Wall isn't something the Zerg really need and goes against their fast, offensive play style. Not only that it's basically a Supply Depot wall except with Creep. No thanks.

As for the Insect Swarms I could of sworn this was in SC2 during a early build. They basically just did a little extra damage. I have no idea why they were taken out and I know there wasn't a lot of info on them.

I'm beginning to consider this guy's threads as spam. Seriously. They spawn faster than larvae on a hatchery guarded by a queen.

Ya he likes to go on streaks where he creates several threads in a short period of time then he will disappear for a few days. Some of his ideas aren't terrible, but most are.

No need. Zerg have no uses for walls. We expand, expand, expand, consume, expand, expand...you get the idea. Neat idea, but for the wrong race.

This would be a neat idea actually. Though I don't know if damage over time would be the right idea, maybe slow down movement for those that are in it's range of 5 yards or something. Like, if you're close to a hornets nest, you have a chance of them coming after you if they feel threatened or something.

It just seemed very appropriate.

Neither of these ideas are fantastic. "Creep Wall," for one, doesn't fit the Zerg gameplay very well, and "Zergian Insects" is an awful name and vaguely resembles an ability that was pulled from the Zerg pre-beta.

I'm a little disappointed by the fact that "Crazy Ideas for Zerg" was a thread I opened with just a little bit of excitement/interest.
