Thats right. it is now coming out in theaters. at first i thought that it was going to be absolutly horrible. but then i saw who was directing it. M. Night Shamalan (probably just butchered his name there). this makes the movie interesting to me... any thoughts?

Didn't know they were making a movie about it, I liked the cartoon version so I hope it doesn't suck.
Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result.

Now? I am sure it won't be shown till next year, a few days behind damned Eclipse of the twoilet saga. That is a very wrong move imo since the first film would have to have great audience and income for the two sequels to continue, and with girls plaguing Eclipse in probably at least half of all the cinemas then, that is dangerous. I really want to watch it but I don't like the casting of Zuko and Iroh. Other movies I'm going to watch next year are Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, Narnia and perhaps the Mummy 4 if it happens. |

According to the trailer it's summer '10. Mandos probably just got it confused with the other Avatar, which took me a while to discern as well.

This movie will do okay or fail epicly. Either way, it won't do justice to the source material, so I probably won't see it in theater. The first movie alone will have to cover 10 hours worth of tv.

when i said now, i meant it is official. as in I saw it on tv, therefore there is no backing out. I new it wasn't coming out right NOW and i am sorry for the confusion.

I m a fan of the animation series.
Based on the trailer I m not impressed. I agree with silent templar the casting of Zuko is just horrible. Haven't seen Iroh yet. And yes I cannot see this kid in the Avatar state. The only good thing I saw in the trailer was the location/set, its good. But that's just about the trailer, I HOPE the entire movie doesn't suck. This is the main dangers I m worried about IF Blizzard decides to make an SC movie with live actors. Bad casting characters may not look like what they are suppose to look like. 100% CG has not limits.imho

I can see the actor cast as zuko to be a KIND of zuko. Just not the one in the animation.

Well I am not happy with anyone they got from a how they look point of view. Of coures that is what happens when you go live action so I am trying not to judge the movie on that.... well not judge it too much
 . By the way the person playing Iroh is Shaun Toub.

Lol I kept getting "Avatar" and "Avatar: The Last Airbender" confused. I was thinking "what the hell do these blue people have to do with The Last Airbender (of which I have seen only a few episodes)
 I just recently realized that they were two separate movies. *facepalm*I have seen the trailer and I will agree that the casting seems a little...odd. What I'm REALLY looking forward to is Prince of Persia
