What do I win?
The grand prize winner will receive a powerful, top of the line, high quality, mind blowingly fast NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 (specs below) video card. The video card will be free of charge (and shipped free of charge) to the user with the best submission.
What do I have to do?
The contest centers around the next Starcraft 2 installment, Heart of the Swarm. In this contest you will have to create a storyline for the game Heart of the Swarm. The storyline must flow and innertwine with Wings of Liberty as much as it can; the more involvement between the two stories, the better your chances of winning are. Furthermore, the storyline must end in such a way that the third game, Legacy of the Void, can continue on.
It is highly recommended that you play the current campaign all the way through so that you grasp the full concept of the current story arch. For a better chance of winning this video card, the more detailed you get with the story and the more detailed you get with the gameplay and campaign setup, the better. For example, describe what the Zerg equivalent of the Terran credit system would be, or the Zerg equivalent of the mercenaries, or the different areas within the Zerg hive (aka the Hyperion). You can even go as far as creating new characters, missions, objectives, achievements, etc, etc. Again, the more detailed the better!
We also highly encourage you to create some sort of artwork to go along with the story. Whether it be the campaign lobby, the missions, units, characters, whatever... some sort of graphical representation would be appreciated!
How do I enter?
Once you have your story ready, you may post it within the contest forum. The topic title should be as follows: [Nvidia] *Name of your story here*. By posting it within the forums, this allows all members and moderators to read and critique your story.
When your topic is created, the final step is to submit it into the contest by filling out the form at the bottom of this page.
You have until the end date to enter the contest and any submissions past the end date will not be included. You are welcome to edit and update your story up until the end date.
Frequently Asked Questions
- How long does my story have to be?
As long as you want! However, a storyline that can be read as a novel may be too long for the judges to spend time reading. - Do I need to add extra details about the campaign lobby/dashboard? (The Hyperion setting)
No you do not, but it would benefit you greatly by laying these details out. - How many times can I enter?
You may only enter once.
